THE DOGMA TAIL

It all started with Mary and Michael Hogan and their dogs Jackson and Truman. Mary and Michael, who were active in the local K-9 community, realized how much Arlingtonians cared for their pets. This encouraged them (with Jackson's input) to open a doggy bakery. Dogma opened it's doors in Arlington, Virginia in November, 2000. Mary and the feisty duo of Jackson and Truman made fresh-baked dog treats in the store daily. The goal was, and continues to be, to offer unique and healthy products to both dogs and dog lovers in a comfortable atmosphere where pets and their owners can shop together. Jackson, Truman and Mary quickly became a mainstay in the DC Metro area, pet-loving community and paved the way for a new Dogma owner to take the helm in November, 2008. Mary convinced her friend, Sheila Raebel, that if she were to buy her dog, Bailey, a bakery, there might be a better chance to find the finicky pup a treat she will eat. So, while Mary continues her community works, Sheila has taken ownership of Dogma and is committed to providing the local community with the same level of dedication and unique selection of products that customers have become accustomed to finding at Dogma Bakery and Boutique. So, stop in and meet the new owner, see the upgrades to the store, check out some of the new bakery items or bring your pet in for a visit to sample some treats. We're open seven days a week and would enjoy visiting with you anytime.
